Dinesh Karthik supported the comeback
At the same time, Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has supported the return of Faf du Plessis to international cricket. He believes that South Africa will miss out on a ‘trick’ if they do not select an experienced player for this year’s Cricket World Cup. Du Plessis has shown amazing consistency while opening with Virat Kohli. His bat is speaking on the grounds of India.
I am not at all surprised by Faf’s form
Du Plessis’ RCB teammate Karthik was not surprised by the former South African captain’s consistency. He believes that the 38-year-old still has a lot to achieve at the international level. Talking on the latest edition of ICC Review, Karthik said – I am not at all surprised by Faf’s form as I think he is a fantastic player. He is also a very good leader. He has been very consistent in the last four-five years of IPL. He still has one more year where he can be even more consistent, effective, powerful.
I want Faf to say yes when South Africa ask him
The South African batsman has an excellent record in ODIs in India. He has scored 394 runs in 10 matches at an average of over 65. Karthik believes that his experience in the tournament will come in handy for the team. Karthik said- I think he will lose a ‘trick’ if South Africa does not take him to the World Cup. He is ready for this. He is someone who can make a difference both as a captain and as a batsman. I really wish Faf would say yes when South Africa ask him because he will make an impact in the World Cup.
