Delhi Mayor Election: Voting for Delhi MCD Mayor is over. For the first time in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party has won the mayor’s post. AAP corporator Shaili Oberoi won the mayoral post. Shaili Oberoi got 150 votes and BJP’s Rekha Gupta got 116 votes. At the same time, 9 Congress councilors boycotted the election.
The mayoral contest was between AAP’s Shaili Oberoi and BJP’s Rekha Gupta. AAP’s Ashu Thakur was also in the fray as the third candidate. The MCD elections in Delhi were held on 4 December, while their results came on 8 December. BJP did not get majority in MCD after 15 years in elections. AAP has uprooted the BJP, which has been rooted in the MCD for 15 years.

Shelly Oberoi has been elected councilor from ward number 86 in Delhi’s Patel Nagar assembly. Shaili Oberoi, who has done PhD, used to be a professor by profession. Shelly Oberoi tweeted on 27 April. He wrote the caption that he received the PhD degree at the 35th convocation held at IGNOU. Shaili Oberoi joined AAP as an activist in 2013 and was the vice-president of the party’s Mahila Morcha till 2020.
Shaili Oberoi’s father’s name is Satish Kumar Oberoi. Shelly has two sisters and one brother, sister’s name is Miley Khanna and brother’s name is Tusshar Oberoi. His studies have been done from Delhi and Himachal. He has done B.Com from Janki Devi College, University of Delhi and M.Com from Himachal University.
