Delhi Liquor Policy: Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday raided the premises of his associates in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case. Sanjay Singh alleged that the probe agency raided Sarvesh Mishra’s premises at Vithalbhai Patel House in Delhi. The AAP leader also said in a tweet that the ED raided Ajit Tyagi’s premises.

Sanjay Singh has alleged that the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22 for granting licenses to liquor traders favored some dealers who allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge strongly denied by the AAP Was. The policy was later repealed.

Sanjay Singh, present in Mumbai, said that this morning I came to know that raids are going on at the houses of my colleagues (Ajit Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra), so I want to tell the ED that I will neither bow down nor stop. We are not going to compromise in front of this gimmick of Modi government, we will fight with you and expose the misuse of ED in front of the whole country.

In another tweet, Sanjay Singh said that Modi’s bullying is at its peak. I am fighting against Modi’s dictatorship. The fake investigation of ED was exposed in front of the whole country. ED accepted my mistake. When nothing was found, today ED raided the house of my colleagues Ajit Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra. Sarvesh’s father is suffering from cancer, this is the end of the crime. No matter how much crime you commit, the fight will continue.

What is Delhi liquor policy issue?

Actually, the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi implements the new excise policy on 17 November 2021. After the implementation of this policy, the Delhi government claims that it will increase the revenue, as well as end the mafia rule. But as claimed, the opposite happened.

July 2022 A report is submitted to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on behalf of the then Chief Secretary of Delhi. The report alleges that Deputy CM and Excise Minister Manish Sisodia has given undue advantage to liquor traders through the new liquor policy. It is on the basis of this report that a recommendation is made by the Lieutenant Governor to get the matter investigated by the CBI.

17 August 2022 CBI registers a case in the matter and starts investigation. 15 people including Manish Sisodia are made accused in the case. Then on August 22, there is an entry of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case. A case of money laundering is also registered by the ED in the Excise Policy. After about six months of investigation, Manish Sisodia is first arrested by the CBI and then by the ED. In this case, CBI has also questioned Arvind Kejriwal.
