In such a situation, Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Minister Sherry Rehman has said that the cyclone has slowed down. However, agencies and officials are cautious.

This storm is of severe to severe category

According to the Indian and Pakistani Meteorological Department, cyclonic storm Biparjoy will hit the coastal places of Gujarat tonight. This cyclonic storm has been classified as a “severe to severe cyclonic storm”.

Several media reports claim that this devastating storm may hit the Gujarat coast any time today evening, while some reports say that landfall could happen anytime during the night.

Biparjoy is so far from Pakistan

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the cyclone is expected to land between the port of KT and India’s Gujarat, a report in Pakistan’s media house Dawn said.

The alert issued by the PMD states that the cyclone will move north-northeast six hours after the landfall. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said the storm was about 220 km south of Karachi, 210 km south of Thatta and 130 km south-southwest of Keti Bunder.

Dawn reports that heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm is expected in Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas and Umerkot districts of Pakistan’s Sindh from June 15-17. Dust/storm and rain with strong winds have been issued for Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Alayar, Shaheed Benazirabad and Union districts for Thursday night and Friday.
