Cyclone Biparjoy Live Updates: Precautionary steps are being taken in view of the threat of severe cyclone Biparjoy near Jakhau port in Kutch, Gujarat. On Tuesday, 30,000 people were shifted to temporary shelters from the coastal areas.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for several states and union territories including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Lakshadweep, etc. The ports are closed till June 16 and ships are anchored. Due to the approaching cyclone, the weather has turned bad with extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds in the region.

In view of Cyclone Biparajoy, the Central and State Ministers on Tuesday reviewed the preparedness at various levels. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday reviewed the preparedness for cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ in the national capital and directed all stakeholders and officials to ensure ‘zero casualties’ and minimize possible damage.
