2024 Loksabha Election

2024 Loksabha Election: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary has rejected the proposal of Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. He said his party’s hold in the TMC-ruled state was increasing with each passing day. He said why we will fight against TMC in Bengal only, wherever needed. He raised the question that before the Karnataka elections, has Mamta Banerjee ever said that vote for the Congress to defeat the BJP? The victory of the Congress party in Karnataka has made Mamata Banerjee realize that she will not be able to fight the BJP without taking the Congress along.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that when elections were going on in Karnataka, he did not urge people to vote for the Congress. Today, when Congress won, she realized that without Congress, she cannot move ahead in Bengal. He cited his party’s victory in the recent by-election for the Sagardighi assembly constituency as the Congress’s hold in Bengal is increasing with each passing day.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that the TMC leader should stop talking here and there and meet top Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi. However, he insisted that the Congress’ fight against the TMC in Bengal would continue.

Ready to support where Congress is strong

Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee said in a press conference held at the state secretariat Nabanna on Monday, ‘Wherever the Congress is strong, their party is ready to support.’ He said that wherever any regional political party is strong, BJP cannot fight there. The parties which are strong in a particular area should fight together. I am supporting Congress in Karnataka, but it should not fight against me in Bengal. Congress will have to help TMC in Bengal.

Mamta Banerjee said that I am neither a magician nor an astrologer. What will happen in the future? Cannot say this But I can tell one thing that wherever regional parties are strong, BJP cannot fight there. The vote cast in Karnataka is a mandate against the BJP government.
