Order came yesterday, CBI came into action today
Calcutta High Court Justice Amrita Sinha on Thursday rejected the application of Abhishek Banerjee and Kuntal in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam. Along with this, a fine of Rs 25 lakh was also imposed on both of them for wasting the time of the court. Advocate Firdous Shamim said that now there is no hindrance in the investigation process. ED and CBI can inquire.
Please inform that Abhishek Banerjee is the National General Secretary of TMC. At the same time, Kuntal Ghosh has been expelled from the party. It was Kuntal Ghosh who had named Abhishek Banerjee in this scam. Later, he said that he was pressurized by the central agencies to take the name.
What is teacher recruitment scam?
In 2014, the West Bengal School Service Commission took out the recruitment of teachers in government schools. Partha Chatterjee was the education minister at that time. The recruitment process started in 2016. When there were complaints of many irregularities in this matter, the matter reached the High Court. The CBI filed the first charge sheet on 30 September. It contained the names of 16 people, including former education minister Partha Chatterjee. The ED arrested Partha Chatterjee and his close aide Arpita Mukherjee. Partha Chatterjee is in jail since 23 July 2022.
