Congress Files: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched a fresh attack on the Congress over allegations of corruption. BJP has released the first episode of ‘Congress Files’ alleging corruption of Rs 48,20,69,00,00,000 during Congress rule.

What did BJP say in the video?
In a video message titled ‘Congress means corruption’, the BJP said that the Congress looted Rs 48,20,69,00,00,000 from the public in its 70 years of rule. That money could have been used for other useful areas including security and development.
In the video, the BJP said that with this amount, 24 INS Vikrant, 300 Rafale jets and 1000 Mars missions could have been built or bought, but the country had to pay the price of Congress’s corruption and lagged behind in the race for progress.
BJP bid- 2004-14 tenure ‘lost decade’
The BJP said in the video that keeping aside the entire 70 years, if we look at the last term of 2004-14, it was a ‘lost decade’. The newspapers of those days were filled with the news of corruption, which made every Indian hang his head in shame.

Earlier, the Congress had also attacked the BJP on the Adani issue and released several sets of questions under the campaign ‘Hum Adani Ke Hain Koun’. The party alleged that the BJP gave monopoly to the Adani group in various projects.
