Ahmednagar Renamed: After renaming Maharashtra’s Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad as Dharashiv, the Shinde-Fadnavis government on Wednesday announced the renaming of Ahmednagar.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced to change the name of Ahmednagar to ‘Ahilya Devi Nagar’ on the occasion of Ahilyabai Holkar’s birth anniversary. Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had come to Chaundi in Jamkhed for the birth anniversary program of Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar. He made this announcement in this program.

According to information, on the occasion of 298th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar, various programs were organized at Chaundi in Jamkhed taluka today. Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were present on this occasion. Apart from these, Guardian Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, MP Sadashiv Lokhande, MP Dr. Sujay Vikhe Patil, MLA Ram Shinde, MLA Gopichand Padalkar, senior leaders Anna Dange, Ramesh Shendge were also present on the occasion.

Giving the name of Ahilya Devi will increase the prestige of the district

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shinde said that the government has decided to name Ahmednagar district after Ahilyabai Holkar. Our government is fortunate to have taken this decision. Ahilyabai’s work is as big as the Himalayas. Giving his name will increase the prestige of this district.

CM Shinde said – the world will see the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai

CM Shinde said that at present there is a government of common people in the state. Last year some people came here and tried to do politics. However, we finished his government in just 20 days. During this, the CM said that we will celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai in such a way that the whole world will see it. Chief Minister Shinde also assured that all the demands of the Dhangar community would be resolved in one meeting.

Deputy CM Fadnavis said, Ahilyabai protected religion

Earlier, Deputy CM Fadnavis also praised Ahilyabai’s work. He said, Rajmata Ahilyadevi was a true protector of religion. He saved many temples. In true sense, he did the work of protecting religion. There was a demand that his name should be given to this district. Our government made Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv. Along with this, the name of this district will also be changed.
