Anurag Thakur attacked Mamta Banerjee on the murder of Bengal BJP leader, said- she is anti-Hindu and biased

Bengal violence: After the murder of a BJP leader in West Bengal, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has attacked Mamta Banerjee. On Sunday, Anurag Thakur called Mamta Banerjee anti-Hindu and biased. On the other hand, the rhetoric between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) continues regarding the violence that broke out in West Bengal during the Ram Navami procession.

BJP leader Raju Jha was shot dead by unknown miscreants on Saturday evening at Shaktigraha in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal. Reacting to the incident, Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused the TMC supremo of fomenting tension in the state and termed him as ‘anti-Hindu’ and ‘partisan’.

Anurag said – Ram devotees are lathicharged in Bengal

Speaking to news agency ANI, Anurag Thakur said that devotees of Lord Ram in West Bengal are being beaten up and forced to stop the Shobha Yatra. Devotees of Lord Rama are attacked with sticks, stones pelted, bombs hurled. Shobha Yatra was stopped during Ram Navami. He said that Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is biased and anti-Hindu.

Anurag Thakur said, “The violence and arson that took place during Ram Navami in Bengal happened at the behest of Mamata Banerjee. She is a role model of how law and order should be dismantled in the state.” Continuing his attack, Thakur claimed that Banerjee remained a mute spectator to the “attack on Hindus”. He said that Mamta Didi is sleeping. She is providing protection to a section and inciting violence against the people of Hindu community.

BJP leader killed while going to Kolkata

According to the police, BJP leader Raju Jha, a businessman from Durgapur, was on his way to Kolkata along with some of his colleagues when unidentified people attacked him outside a confectionery shop in Shaktigarh area. He had joined the BJP in the presence of state president Dilip Ghosh ahead of the last assembly elections in December 2021.

Bengal BJP president stopped from going to Howrah

Earlier in the day, Bengal BJP chief Sukant Majumdar on Sunday arrived at Howrah’s Shibpur to meet local residents at Panchsheel Apartments, where vandalism was reported during the Ram Navami procession. Majumdar, however, was barred from visiting the spot. Police said prohibitory orders are in force.

After being stopped by the police, Sukant Majumdar said that the Chief Minister of West Bengal is not for all but for people of one religion. The Bengal BJP chief hit out at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the killing of party worker Raju Jha in East Bardhaman district, saying law and order has broken down in the state.

Mamta Banerjee blamed BJP for the violence

Fresh violence broke out in Howrah on Friday, a day after two groups clashed on Thursday during a Ram Navami procession and stones were pelted. As tension prevailed in Howrah, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee blamed the BJP for the violence and alleged that it was planned by the BJP for a month.

Let us tell you that during the procession of Ram Navami from Kajipara of Howrah city on Thursday evening, there was a clash between two groups. Several shops were vandalized while several vehicles, including some police vehicles, were torched during the violence. Police personnel deployed in the area were pelted with stones on Friday afternoon, following which prohibitory orders were imposed in the area and internet services were suspended.

The BJP denied Banerjee’s allegations and instead demanded an NIA probe into the matter. On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose on Friday regarding the violence during the Ram Navami procession in Howrah and took stock of the situation. Shah had also spoken to BJP state president Sukant Majumdar in this regard.
