New Delhi: To identify young players, the BCCI has called 20 potential all-rounders for a camp of about three weeks at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Cricketer Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has also been called for the camp starting in August. Arjun plays first class cricket for Goa. He made his debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL this year.
Thoughts on carving ahead of Emerging Asia Cup
As per reports, there is also an Emerging Asia Cup (U-23) later this year and the BCCI is scouting for potential youngsters. The all-rounders camp is the brainchild of NCA head of cricket VVS Laxman. Through this, the objective is to create multi-skilled players in all formats. The senior national selection committee headed by Shiv Sundar Das selected the players on the basis of performance and potential.

The source said- Not everyone called for the camp is a pure all-rounder. Some are batting allrounders and some are the opposite. Notable names include Saurashtra left-arm pacer and lower-order batsman Chetan Sakaria, who has already played for India in 2021 and also plays in the IPL for Delhi Capitals.
Abhishek Sharma, Mohit Redkar, Manav Suthar created the place
There is also Punjab left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma, who has done well for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He bowls tight left arm spin. Apart from Tendulkar, Goa’s off-spinner all-rounder Mohit Redkar has also been called. Manav Suthar of Rajasthan has also made it to the list.
