Bangladesh Boat Capsize: Four people were killed while several others are missing after a boat capsized in the Buriganga river near Dhaka in Bangladesh. The incident took place near Telghat area of Keraniganj. It is being told that at around 8:15 pm on Sunday night, the boat going from Sadarghat in Dhaka towards Telghat collided with a sand dune.
On information, three units of the fire service and a rescue team of the Coast Guard reached the spot and started the rescue operation. Officials said that the rescue effort is still going on.

Eight people rescued, many missing
The Dhaka Tribune quoted fire service officials as saying that in addition to the four confirmed deaths, eight people who were on the ship at the time of the incident were rescued. However, several people on board the ship are still missing, reported Dhaka Tribune quoting sources at the Sadarghat River Police Station.
According to Shahjahan Sardar, officiating fire service and civil defense officer (media), the eight rescued include four men, three women and a child.

Brigadier General Rashid Un Nabi, director of the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, said the process of shifting the bodies of the deceased was underway. Further details in the matter are awaited.
