Hunter Valley Accident: A bus carrying wedding guests met with an accident in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. 10 people died in the accident, while 11 others were taken to the hospital. Australia-based The Sydney Morning Herald gave this information late on Sunday night.
Emergency services were working overnight at the scene of the crash on Wine Country Drive near the Hunter Expressway off-ramp in Greta. Police said preliminary inquiries revealed that 11 people were taken to hospital by helicopter and by road while 18 other passengers in the bus escaped unhurt.

According to news reports, the driver of the bus has been taken to the hospital under police protection. Injured victims by road and air were taken to the John Hunter Hospital in New Lambton Heights in Hunter Valley and the Mater Hospital in Waratah, where they are receiving treatment.
A crime scene has been created, which will be analyzed on Monday by specialist forensic police and from the Crash Investigation Unit. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Cessnock Mayor Jay Suval described the news of the bus crash as “terrible”.
Speaking to Nine Today, Jay Suval said this is something no one wants to know about, reports The Sydney Morning Herald. He added, “My thoughts are obviously with those involved in the accident, but also with their families and friends, as well as the first responders at the scene as this must have been truly horrific for them as well.”
