Assam Cop Junmoni Rubber: Assam Police’s controversial woman sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha died in a road accident in the early hours of Tuesday. His car was hit from the front by a container in Nagaon district. At that time, Rabha was alone in the car and in plain clothes. The incident took place near Sarubhugia village under Jakhalabandha police station area of Kaliabor sub-division.
In-charge of Jakhlabandha police station Pawan Kalita said that the information about the accident was received at around 2.30 am. After this the police reached the spot and Rabha was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The container truck that hit is from UP. It has been seized by the police. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. Search for him is going on Nagaon Superintendent of Police Leena Dole reached the spot in the morning to take stock of the situation.
Was arrested last year with ex-boyfriend
Neither the family nor the policemen know where Sub Inspector Rabha was going alone. Jumoni Rabha was in-charge of Morikolong police post. In June last year, she was arrested along with her ex-boyfriend on charges of alleged corruption and sent to judicial custody by a court in Majuli district. After which he was suspended. However, she was later reinstated.

Audio of conversation with BJP MLA was leaked
She was embroiled in another controversy in January 2022. His telephonic conversation with BJP MLA from Bihpuria constituency Amiya Kumar Bhuiyan was leaked. Some boatmen were arrested for operating country boats with machines illegally fitted by Junmoni Rabha and they were accused of allegedly harassing the people of Bhuiyan’s constituency.
There was an uproar after the audio was leaked. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that an elected representative should be given due respect.
