Prannoy then reeled off four straight points to lead 18-12 before Wang broke the points run with an aggressive comeback after a high-paced rally. Wang then punished Prannoy for his weak return and moved to 16–19 with a deceptively net return.
A backhand was going wide and then another long shot from Prannoy brought Wang to 19-19. Prannoy then hit a cross court smash to take game point and then hit a straight smash to wrap up the game.
