What is the main whip
In a political party, a whip is the person who is responsible for maintaining discipline in that party. Normally, there is a provision for the leader of the legislature party in the governing document of the political party itself. This leader is usually chosen from among the legislators of the party. A whip is an official of a political party who acts as an ‘enforcer’ of the party inside the House of Parliament or the Legislative Assembly. The Chief Whip is responsible for administering the whipping system, which ensures that party members attend and vote in Parliament as desired by the party leadership.
