New Delhi: The tussle over the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra has intensified. While the party’s national president Sharad Pawar expelled Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel from the party on Monday after the rebellion of veteran leaders, his nephew Ajit Pawar announced a new team, claiming himself on the NCP. Ajit appointed Sunil Tatkare as the new state president of NCP. Party leader Praful Patel announced this.
Sunil Tatkare appointed President of Maharashtra NCP
Praful Patel said- Sunil Tatkare will have the right to make organizational changes in the party. Along with this Patel removed Jayant Patil from NCP. Praful Patel said – We are freeing them from their responsibilities. I am appointing Sunil Tatkare as Maharashtra President of NCP. Praful Patel further said- We request Sharad Pawar with folded hands to give us his blessings as he is our guru. We have unanimously elected Ajit Pawar as the leader of the Legislature Party. We have informed the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly about our decision.

Application sent to disqualify Patil and Awhad
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister and rebel leader of NCP Ajit Pawar said in the press conference regarding the action taken on the MLAs – I have come to know from the media reports that action has been taken on 9 of our MLAs. In this context, we have sent an application to the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker to disqualify Jayant Patil and Jitendra Awhad.
Need the support of 36 MLAs
After Ajit-Sharad’s claims on NCP, now a big question has arisen that whose NCP will be. Explain that Ajit needs the support of 36 out of 53 NCP MLAs to get the party and its symbol. If they succeed in doing so, then the danger of snatching the party from Sharad Pawar will increase. It is being claimed that there are 40 MLAs with Ajit.
