UP News: After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, it is now decided that BSP MP Afzal Ansari will go from UP. Ghazipur’s MP/MLA court on Saturday sentenced mafia Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari in the 2007 Gangster Act case. While Mukhtar was imprisoned for 10 years, Afzal was sentenced to four years in jail.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on Mukhtar Ansari and Rs 1 lakh on Afzal Ansari. Mukhtar and Afzal Ansari were charged in a kidnapping and murder case related to the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai. Afzal Ansari’s Lok Sabha membership is expected to be decided after the sentence. Because the rules of Parliament say that any member who is sentenced to two years or more in jail is automatically disqualified.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently lost his MP status as per the same rule after being convicted and sentenced to two years in jail in a 2019 defamation case.

Krishnanand Rai was murdered in 2007
In the 2007 Krishnanand Rai murder case and in the 1996 coal baron Nandkishore Rungta abduction-murder case of Chandasi in Chandauli district, the Mohdabad police prepared a gang chart.
It is alleged that in the year 1996, Mukhtar Ansari had abducted coal trader Nandkishore Rungta of Chandasi Koyla Mandi from his henchman Ataur Rahman alias Babu alias Sikandar. After the kidnapping, a ransom of Rs 3 crore was demanded from the businessman. Later the coal merchant was murdered, but no solid evidence could be found against Mukhtar in this case.
At the same time, in the year 2007, 7 people including BJP leader Krishnanand Rai were killed in AK 47 firing at Basaniya Chatti in Mohammadabad police station area of Ghazipur.
Afzal Ansari, Mukhtar and Ejazul Haque were booked under the Gangster Act in the case. Ejazul Haque has passed away. In this case, on September 23, 2022, the court framed charges against MP Afzal Ansari and Mafia Mukhtar Ansari.
