Nepal Avalanche: An avalanche occurred in Darchula district of western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. During this, 8 people are feared to be buried under the snow. Armed police force team along with police have reached the spot. Relief-rescue work has been started. District Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Thapa told ANI that some people had gone to collect Yarsagumba (caterpillar fungus). Search operation has been started in search of missing people. But still no success.

The incident took place at Bolin of Vyas Rural Municipality-1 at around 2.45 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The Yarsagumba gathering people were staying in a tent. But the tent is destroyed in an avalanche. The identity of the victims is yet to be ascertained.

Seven people died in Sikkim on April 4

A month ago, on April 4, seven people had died in an avalanche in Sikkim, India. The avalanche occurred near the 15th milestone on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg in Nathula area. A child was also included in the dead. A team of Trishakti Corps, Indian Army and BRO Project Swastik immediately swung into action and launched an all-out rescue operation. More than 20 tourists were rescued.
