New Delhi: Five insurgents of banned Kangleipak ​​Communist Party and People’s War Group (PWG) surrendered to security forces in Manipur on Friday. The militants surrendered before the Assam Rifles in the presence of police at Somsai in Ukhrul.

37 militants surrendered in Imphal

The surrendered militants will be sent to a formal ceremony organized by the government after completing all the formalities. Last month, 37 militants had surrendered and laid down their arms in Manipur’s Imphal before Chief Minister N Biren Singh. Of the 37 Manipur-based militants, 36 were from the Chin Kuki Liberation Army (CKLA), and one from PREPAK (PRO).
